Our family case managers and volunteers from local churches visit people with HIV in their own homes. During the visits our positive friends and their family members are helped to deal positively with the disease. Depending on the circumstances of the person with HIV, the team counsels, checks the health status, monitors medications, encourages, and prays with them. The relationships that are built up with the families are vital to helping people with HIV overcome the many challenges that they face.
The home-based care of people with HIV is the main focus of our work at JSK and we are currently looking after about 120 families affected by the disease in Thane.
